The drivers seat was electric, so I connected it up to the 12v feeds on the fuse box and it all works perfectly. Now the first thing I had to do with use an angle grinder to remove all the fittings from the rails on the bottom of the seats. Does anyone know the correct way to disconnect the airbag wiring harness without causing. I am looking at putting a powered sub under the drivers seat. How do i remove the drivers seat? Obiviously it pulls forward and there is a small lever on the door side to allow it pull even further but it then wont go any. I removed the stock seats from my Jetta and replaced them with OEM Recaros with airbags. So just touch the striker pin in the door frame for a couple seconds. ![]() Make sure you're grounded! Static electricity can create enough of a charge to ignite the bags. Tip them back so you can get at the wiring harness. Here are the steps I used: Turn off the car. I don't think you 'definately' need it, but if it makes you feel more secure, then get it. ![]() Quote: You definitely need the airbag bypass harness.
